Password Management
If your password management consists of sticky notes, consider migrating to a password manager during some free time.
Many people are still using weak passwords or reusing the same passwords on multiple accounts. This leaves them vulnerable to dictionary attacks or password spraying attacks. Threat actors conduct password spraying by using compromised passwords to attempt to login to multiple accounts that may belong to the same user.
A good password manager will generate strong and unique passwords for each account. These passwords are stored in an encrypted password vault that requires a master password and/or biometrics such as a fingerprint to access.
In addition to a password manager, use multi factor authentication (MFA) for all accounts that support it. These range from SMS text verification or biometrics, to hardware keys like a Yubikey that must be used in addition to the password.
These simple measures will help protect your accounts and avoid personal information compromises and business data breaches.
